Eric Decker’s career day highlighted a surprising offensive explosion that capped off the season — and likely the Rex Ryan Era — on Sunday. Decker had 10 receptions for a career-high 221 yards and a touchdown to help the Jets to a 37-24 win in an otherwise forgettable season.
Decker, who became only the fourth player in Jets history to top 200 receiving yards, fell seven yards short of Don Maynard’s single-game Jets record of 228 yards set in 1968. It was the sixth time that a Jet had eclipsed 200 receiving yards, with Maynard doing it three times. “Geno (Smith) did a good job of moving around the pocket and just delivering some throws that could give me a couple of opportunities,” Decker said. “That’s all I ask for: just a couple of chances on some balls.”
