The Gophers hadn’t played a Jan. 1 bowl game in 53 years. So when the time finally came this year, Decker wasn’t going to miss it.
They announced they sold about 8,000 tickets for the game, while Missouri sold about 6,500. Both teams expect thousands more to turn out in their respective school colors after securing tickets on their own.
Former Gophers receiver Eric Decker, now with the New York Jets, bought 19 tickets. And the Citrus Bowl made sure to secure field passes for him and his wife.
@EricDecker87 we’ve got a couple of field passes waiting for you and @JessieJDecker if y’all feel like dropping by Orlando on Thursday

@EricDecker87 @JessieJDecker YESSSS. We’re excited to have you. We can give the passes to Minn staff if that’s easy. Or DM us your pref.

Despite the loss, Decker was happy to support his former team.
